"Red Cap" apples

A winter variety—a bud mutation of Red Delicious discovered in the United States—with large fruits (220–250 g) that are elongated and ribbed. The glossy skin is an intense, bright red color; the flesh is sweet, crisp, and firm. The flavor is harmonious, thanks to a balanced sugar-to-acid ratio. It has high frost resistance and resistance to scab. It stores for 5–6 months.
